We first saw it at the
Auto Expo and we just not going to keep off our eyes on it and now finally you
can buy one as Mercedes Benz India
has launched the CLA 45 AMG at a mouth watering price tag of Rs. 68.5 Lakhs ex
showroom. We think this makes the CLA 45 great value and it would easily be the
best selling AMG in India .
Before we tell you about the engine details, let us first talk about the
styling of the CLA 45 and we think this car is easily the best looking car you
can buy at this price. Now CLA in its on ride is actually quite a good looking
car but the CLA 45 well with the AMG Styling details it looks even better.
There are of course the AMG Body styling kit and then there are the gorgeous 18
Inches Alloy wheels and of course the AMG Sports exhaust system. Inside you
have AMG support seats and AMG support steering wheel along with the whole lot
of features. We think the AMG CLA 45 looks fantastic inside and out and is one
of the biggest plus point of this car.
We drove the CLA 45
briefly at the BIC and we were quite impressed with this car. The CLA 45 sounds
like a proper AMG and more importantly it goes like one. The engine here is not
a V8 as you expect from the AMG but instead a 2 Liter 4 cylinder petrol engine.
Don’t let that fool you because this engine makes the 355 BHP and is the most
powerful production version 4 Cylinder engine on this planet. Power is
generated to all 4 wheels using an AMG speed shift 7 speed automatic transmissions.
As we said the CLA 45 AMG is quite fast, in to 0 to 100 times in just 4.6
seconds and an electronic limited top speed of 250 Kilo meters in an hour. We
drove the CLA 45 AMG quite fast and we nearly reached its top speed. Now all we
need to do is to take it out on the road.
