Chevrolet has updated this car and
as you can see it is a very settle updated, it’s a new bumper that given in
front with new housing on the fog lamps but this car still looks apart even
those shuttle and modern updates it looks stylish and really very very sporty
and really does stand apart from the crowd of executive Sedans in India. Price is Rs.13.79 - 16.30 lakhs
It has a nice and deep boot and
it’s really well shaped, it is quite in a shape which means actually you can
load those big suit cases in it straight and it is a very deep boot, there is
bit of loading lift but it should not bee too much of problem because it is
very well shaped, little bit of suspension intruisions in to the boot area but
its not too much, again I will give full marks to Chevrolet for giving it a
nice and big boot for those long journeys on highways.
Just like the outside, even the
cabin is really sporty, Chevrolet has really done a great job in terms of
styling of this car and even though it is over 2 years old still looks nice and
appealing on the inside, you get this nice Cockpit like thing going on inside
the cabin and you get these hooded dials, which looks very very sporty and very
attractive. Well finding a nice and comfortable position is really easy because
this steering adjust for rake as well as for reek, so really you can find
comfortable position for your self. The seat also gets height adjustment which
goes along way in getting that nice and comfortable driving position and this
is of course being the top of inline versions, it really comes loaded. You get
a Sunroof, you get climate control, you get cruise control and really the works
in terms of equipment over here. What it’s really a practical cabin to be in,
you get of course this nice box over here, which can house your cold drink can
here for those long journeys, you get 2 cup holders here and it can actually
hold a 1 litre water bottle which is really great and also the door pockets are
large enough to hold this 1 litre water bottle in. you also get a nice small
compartment over here which can house your coins and other nick nacks and also
a sun glass holder right on off the driver’s head, which really does a
practicality in a long long way.
On the back seat of the Cruze now
Chevrolet had addressed a very important issue here, they have addressed head
room at the back very well, what they have done is, they have scooped out this
roof at the back and this really helps in getting you a little extra head room
at the back, leg room is pretty decent as well, well the cabin is generous
enough in width, so that you can actually sit 3 over here in comfort but there
is bit of a transmission tunnel which means that who ever be seated on the
middle will be little short changed for the legroom, the seats are decent in
themselves and they have got a good cushioning and good sport, you will be very
comfortable in the long run, the only issue is there are no AC Vents on the
rear of this car, which is a bit of surprise really since most of the companies
do offer this. You also get these nice pockets on the back rest of the front
seats and you can keep those magazines over here for that long trip.
The Cruze comes with 2 L Common
Rail Diesel Engine and it develops 165 BHP which makes it the most powerful car
in its segment, well this engine is very responsive power starts coming out
from 1600-1700 RPM and that really makes this a very nice car drive around the
town, when you poaching around the town, it’s a very easy car to maneuver in
the city. Well in its manual form, the Cruze delivers 17.3 KMPL that’s AIRE
tested of course and this automatic delivers 14.8 KMPL.
Now these are good figures
considering this cars length and its weight and of course the segment that it is in. While the Cruise comes with
the 6 speed gearbox, both the manual and the automatic are in 6 Speeds. Today
we got the 6 speed automatic for you and makes driving this car in the City, is
very hassle free. It s a Jug free gear box, its very efficient very refined but
on the highway it is very stable if you want to go to overtake someone, just
press the accelerator, wait for a second and car really does get going and the
good part of course is that you can use this gear box as manually as well. You
can just shift it to the manual slots and you can go up and down on the gear
box. The over all stability is pretty good, when you are on the highway it
feels pretty stable and when you are doing good speed in excess for about say
90 and touching around 100, 110. this car is nice and comfortable and has the
reassuring feel because as the brakes are very good, so that you know it will
stop when you wanting too.
This Chevrolet has strengths by most
executive Sedan buyers are looking at, it comes with the great engine, in fact
the powerful one in its class, lovely looking exteriors and a very nice and
flush cabin. Well it might not have the posh badge like some of its rivals, but
when it comes to pure talent and abilities, the Cruze is desirable on its own.
