Today we will be having a shoot
out between the Volkswagen Vento and the all new Ford Fiesta according to price. Both cars are
very promising but which one would you rather choose. The Fiesta is the looker
of the two, the car has very distinct style and looks very pleasing, the Vento
on the other hand looks like Polo with the boot which it actually is. From the
front, you might mistake the Vento as the Polo and vice versa unless you see
the Fog Lamps which are differently shade. Overall design of the Vento Looks
what in India ,
it doesn’t stand in front of the stunning Fiesta.
Start both cars and it is the Fiesta which has better NBH
levels. The interior is very well insulated and you can not hear the motor
idle, how ever just as silent as the motor is so is its performance. The Vento
will eat the Fiesta in diagrates, thanks to the fantastic power and torque
produces, the Vento is very quick but the Fiesta is more slouches. Power in the
Fiesta is just about adequate and you have to keep the race high to really
enjoy the car. Ford could have more power but compromise it for Mileage, the
Fiesta goes 3 more kilo meters per litre compares to the Vento as per ARAI
figures.
Interiors of the Fiesta Looks Stunning, Instrument Cluster
looks fantastic and layout of the dashboard looks modern and chunky. The
Vento’s dashboard looks good too but looks fail in comparison to the Fiesta.
How ever the Vento Scores when it comes to quality of plastic and rear seat leg
room. There is more space on the rear seat in the Vento and quality is simply
excellent. The Vento also boost of bigger boot than Fiesta at 500 Liters again
430 Liters. The Vento lacks Audio Control steering system.
Ford offers voice activated controls which works
surprisingly well in the Fiesta. Both the Vento and the Fiesta have very good
ride and handling balance how ever the Fiesta has slight edge over the Vento in
these departments, the Fiesta is sharper and has 4 dna unit. Turn the Fiesta in
to any corner and it goes like a train on rails. The ride is also fantastic and
the Fiesta scores over the Vento but not transferring any sound inside. The
Fiesta has an electronic power steering with pull drift compensation technology
which makes the steering very light at low speeds and very well behaved at high
speeds. The Vento has very light steering but offers poor feedback at high
speeds. The Fiesta feels more stable at high speeds as well and has sharper
breaks too, stand on the Fiesta’s breaks and the car stops without any noise,
on the Vento though the breaks trying to make noise on heavy breaking. In case
of emergency breaking in the Fiesta, it has a light blinking a very nice touch
by Ford. So which one you should buy, although the Fiesta costs more than the Vento,
the Ford offers so much more. The top end Vento highland Price is Rs. 10.56 Lakhs
while the base Fiesta style costs Rs. 10.83 Lakhs, the base Fiesta offers ABS,
Airbags, Adjustable Seats, Audio Controls in Steering Wheel, Turn Indicators on
Rear View Mirrors and the lights. The top end Fiesta Titanium costs Rs. 12.28
lakhs and offers Climate Control, Electronically Retracted outside Rear View
Mirrors, Cruise Control, Voice Activated Controls, Bluetooth Connectivity, Ride
Me Home Headlamps, and Reverse Parking Sensors Etc.
All the Feature except the Climate control are lacking in
the Vento making the Fiesta just a fine at its price and to that the fantastic
driving dynamics, cheaper running cost, better service and maintenance and the
Ford is the clear winner in the shootout.
